First, just to thank everyone who attended or helped with our November show, “No Sex Please We’re British” directed by Paul Makinson assisted by Chloe Finneran – it was a resounding success and completely sold out on all 4 nights! Stags and Hens (The Remix) 13 – 16 May 2026
As previously announced, our next show, to be staged Wednesday 13 May to Saturday 16 May 2026, is Willy Russell’s ‘Stags and Hens (the Remix)’, directed by Sonia Hardy.
The action unfolds in a Liverpool nightclub, where the bride-to-be celebrates her hen night whilst the groom unknowingly hosts his stag party in the same venue—soon, hidden tensions come bubbling to the surface as the characters navigate friendship, love, and the pressures of working-class life. Russell’s characteristic witty dialogue crackles as ever, and the Remix version heightens the humour and pace of the original. Make sure you save the dates and book early as soon as tickets become available!
Additional Stags and Hens Auditions 7 & 8 January 2026 7.30 – 9.00pm
Following successful auditions at the end of October Director Sonia is very close to securing a full cast which we’re excited to announce soon, but still have one female role available – Carol! She is a work acquaintance of the bride-to-be and is a bit of a prude but definitely still up for a good night out! Age flexible. Production Meeting 22 January 7.00pm & Social Play Reading 7.30pm
Fancy getting involved with the show in a backstage capacity? There is plenty of scope to help with props, costume, staging, front of house and much more! Come to the Production Meeting at 7.00pm – 7.30pm Thursday 22 January at the Hall. Please email info@quarndonquads.co.uk to confirm if you can attend.
Following this there will be a Social Play Reading – come and join us a for a friendly social evening reading a play – title to be announced shortly! All welcome, you don’t have to be a member – bring a friend if you would like. Free refreshments. Please reply to this email to confirm if you can attend.
Thursday 22 January will be an ideal opportunity especially for new people to get to know us at the society – you are welcome to come to just the Production Meeting or the Social Play reading if you like but it would be great if you would come to both!
